For those people who already have their favorite bike, or would rather a bike with different features to the eLation range of bikes then do not despair. The eLation system can be retro-fitted to just about any style, size and shape of bike.

We also offer a Worry Free Guarantee. If you buy the kit and it does not fit your bike all you do is return the kit to us within 7 days. We will refund the purchase price of the kit (excludes P&H), less a 10% fee to cover our costs to replace parts that are marked during installation and repacking costs; a win-win option. Naturally, this offer is based on the condition the kit has not been ridden.

There are three systems available, 200, 300 and 500W. Depending on your location and on-road or off-road use then you select the size to suit your requirements.

• Both 200W systems are the only road legal kits for Australia
• 300W systems are road legal for New Zealand and off road use in Australia
• 500W systems are for North America and off road use in Australia

Fitting to YOUR bike

• This list is a general guide to the types of bike the system will most likely fit straight out of the box.
  It does not mean it may not still suit you bike, it might mean minor changes or considerations. Please contact us info@elationebikes.com.au for further assistance or advice.

• The bike tube that holds the motor can now have a Size Diameter from 30mm to 60mm in the left to right direction (horizontal to ground). The tube can be almost any shape; cylindrical, triangular oval, elliptical, etc. Smaller and larger tubes can be accept by modifying flexi-clamps yourself or purchase a set made to order for a nominal cost.
  
  
  
  Tubes wider than 60mm can be accommodated but require some modifications from out of the box configuration. These modification can be carry out by a competent 'handy person'. If your tube is wider than 60mm please contact eLation to discuss this option further.
   
• The kit is supplied with two clamps to fit nominal seat tube sizes of 31 to 34mm or 34 to 37mm for the torsion bar clamp.
  
  
   
• The gear changer need to be lever type (Ezy-Shift, Rapid Fire, etc) NOT twist type gear lever changers. The throttle for the kit is a twist lever type and so not compatible with twist shift gear changers.
   
• Tapered spindle (most common) - Cartridge (below) or ball and cup acceptable. Other bikes need to swap their spindle to this type. The length of the cartridge should be 122mm or longer. This is the most common size but some bikes do have a shorter spindle. For bikes with spindle lengths less than 122mm is is a simple change to 122mm and will coast around $30 from bike shops.

• Diamond Frame (most common) - NO rear suspension. Cross tube. See below for possible variations.

  

   

• Bike frame size can range from 15" to 21". Please note that smaller frames (virtually all 15" and some 17") may require the battery to be fitted in a semi-permanent arrangement.
   
• Other frames may be suited but with limitations or modifications needed for installation:
   
  • Recumbent bikes and Trikes. Kits have been successfully installed but generally need some modification to the bike mount plate.
     
  • Road bike curved handle bars. Required awkward use of throttle or use of thumb type throttle.
     
  • Not really suited as kit will most likely impede on folding of bike
     
  • Female bike frames will not allow battery to fit in preferred position. This can be overcome by mounting the battery via our optional Battery Back Rack Mount. This option is provided with a rear rack that has the battery mounting hardware already mounted and with sufficient cable length to reach the rear location.
    
    
     
  • Rear Suspension is acceptable providing seat post tube and diagonal tube (going to handle bar) are fixed. Eg.
    This bike IS NOT suited.

Warranty

All eLation kits come with a 12 month warranty on all parts; except batteries. Batteries come with 6 month manufacturer warranty. Warranty is covered under return to base for repairs or replacement. This requires the customer to ensure secure return of the item to eLation for service. eLation will then return goods to customer, generally the same day via courier service.
